Laos holds a shocking record; it is the most heavily bombed country in modern history despite never having declared war on another country. From 1964 through 1973, US planes dropped more than 2 million explosive devices on the country, but up to one-third of these bombs did not detonate, leaving Laos contaminated with vast quantities of unexploded ordnance. The country still carries the heavy burden of warfare; since the end of the war, more than 22,000 civilians have fallen victim to leftover bombs. The remnants of these deadly devices have been recycled and integrated into the chores of everyday life, refurbished as troughs, water tanks and even flower pots. In observational style, the film introduces the viewers to a reality where war and its remnants have been weaved into the fabric of life.
