A 21. század fordulója a svéd várostervezés egyik aranykora; Stockholm Hammarby Sjöstad negyede a vonzó és környezetbarát városi környezet mintaképe lett az egész világon. Az újfajta tervezés vezéralakja Jan Inghe (1944–2005), akinek a szerepe kiemelkedő a modern város megformálásában. A filmben szakmai pályáját követhetjük nyomon az átjárható terektől a posztmodern hatásokon át az ezredforduló környezettudatos városáig. Skandinávia más városaiból, sőt Kínából vett példákon keresztül érthetjük meg a városrészről alkotott víziójának lényegét.

The turn of the twenty-first century was a golden age in Swedish urban planning. Hammarby Sjöstad in Stockholm became a model around the world for designing an attractive and eco-friendly urban environment. At the forefront of the new way of planning stood the architect Jan Inghe (1944–2005). The film follows urban planner Jan Inghe who had a leading role in transforming the modern city, from planning with detached zones through postmodernism to the environmentally concerned city around the turn of the century. With parallel examples from other cities throughout Scandinavia, and also China, the vision of the city today is exposed and discussed.
