„Csak azt a filmet tudtam elvállalni, amelynek valamelyik pontján magamra ismertem” - Ember Judit a film elkészültével gyakorlatilag perújrafelvételhez juttatott egy félévszázadon át bűnösnek bélyegzett falut. 1948. június 3-án meggyilkoltak Pócspetriben egy rendőr őrvezetőt. A tragikus eseményből a hatóságok koncepciós pert csináltak, a helyszínre még Rajk László és Kádár János is elutaztak személyes informálódási célból.  A perben Királyfalvy Miklóst, a segédjegyzőt halálra ítélték és ki is végezték, a falu papjának halálos ítéletét másodfokon életfogytiglanira „enyhítették”. Ember Judit az események nyomába eredve nemcsak a rég megtörténteket rekonstruálta 35 év után, hanem pontosan feltérképezte az emberekben tovább élő traumákat, félelmeket, nyomort, s a kimondás által indulattalanította, és a kollektív emlékezet részévé avatta ezeket. “I was only able to accept the making of a film which made me recognise myself at a certain point” - Having made it, director Judit Ember’s film virtually gave the chance of appeal to a Hungarian village condemned guilty for half a century. On 3 June 1948, a police corporal had been murdered in Pócspetri. The authorities turned the tragic event into a preconceived legal affair, even ministers like László Rajk and János Kádár travelled to the site to be informed in person. In the trial the notary’s assistant was sentenced to death and subsequently executed, while the death sentence against the priest of the village was “mitigated” to a life sentence in the second instance. Investigating into the events, Judit Ember not only managed to reconstruct them after 35 years, but also accurately mapped all the traumata, fears, and misery staying with the people, and by being pronounced they lost their sting and integrated into collective memory. The film was premiered only after the change of regime.
