A második magyar hangosfilmre összejött a magyar filmgyártás szupercsapata. A forgatókönyvet a népszerű író, a poentírozásban verhetetlen Nóti Károly adta, a rendező a Németországból visszatért Székely István, a slágereket Eisemann Mihály szállította, a filmet a legkiválóbb operatőr, Eiben István fotografálta. És nem feledkezhetünk el a színészekről sem. Jávor Pálról. És azokról, akik miatt a film emlékezetes: Csortosról és Kabosról. A Jávor alakította Benedek mérnök azért vállal munkát a Schneider irányította szállítmányozási vállalatnál, hogy szerelme, Terka közelében lehessen. Ám minden érdeme, a történet fordulatossága, a párhuzamos vágások mellett és ellenére, a film fő erénye és az, ami emlékezetessé teszi, nem a szerelemi szál, a dalok, hanem a kisember, a felkapaszkodott újgazdag, Schneider, vagyis Kabos és az arisztokratáktól hozott komornyik, Csortos kettőse.

For the second Hungarian talking film, a superb team of Hungarian film production was gathered. Written by the popular writer, Károly Nóti, never short of a punch line, the film was directed by István Székely (aka Steve Sekely), just back from Germany, with the songs contributed by Mihály Eisemann, and it was photographed by István Eiben, the most outstanding Magyar cinematographer. And let us not forget about the actors. About the great star, Pál Jávor. And about those who make the film memorable: about the aristocratic Gyula Csortos and the fallible Gyula Kabos. Engineer Benedek, played by Jávor, applies for a job at the forwarding company led by Schneider, in order to be close to his love Terka. Yet despite all its merits, the boisterous turns in the story, the parallel cuts, the major virtue of the film, what makes it memorable, is neither the love story, nor the songs, but the double of the little man, the parvenu Schneider, that is, Kabos, and of the butler who used to serve aristocrats, that is, Csortos. They make the film extremely enjoyable even today.
