BKFM - Monpti

Bővebben a filmről

Vaszary Gábor regénye, a Monpti, világsiker volt, az 1930-as 40-es években sokak olvasták, a világnyelvekre lefordították az ábrándos lelkületű világfi történetét. A 30-as évek Párizsának hangulatát tükröző, könnyed regény – a cím a francia mon petit, vagyis kicsikém rövidítése – olyan, mintha egy mai francia film lenne.

Gábor Vaszary’s novel, Monpti, was a world success, in the thirties and forties it was a bestseller, the story of the cosmopolitan, yet romantic hero being translated into the universally spoken languages. The easygoing novel reflecting the unworried atmosphere of the Paris of the thirties – the title is short for French mon petit, that is, my little one – is like a French film of our day. It is a series of pulsating, witty scenes full of jokes and bon mot-s. It was published along with Vaszary’s own fashion sketches, graphics suiting the novel. In the fifties, when it was filmed in Germany, pre-war French lifestyle meant something like the early twentieth century in the great Magyar writer Krúdy’s novels: a world in which even famine looked romantic. A world in which “a woman is being kissed in every moment, and a man is being betrayed in every moment”.
